My Brother's Stroke: A Medcorder Testimonial

Here's a story from Julie, a Medcorder user, about how Medcorder helped her and her family through a challenging medical situation. Julie's story energizes us, and reminds us why helping patients record and share with family is so important.

As shared by Julie Wyman:
I had no idea there was technology out there like this. We have a very large family and when my brother had a stroke, at the age of 56, we were all desperate to hear how he was doing and my wonderful sister-in-law was overwhelmed just being there for my brother.

Although we had long text streams with one another, no one had a clear idea of what was going on. Then my niece sent me this link. Well, I am not very tech-savvy and was thrilled that even I could download the app and suddenly, we knew everything they did, without my sister-in-law having to remember it all and repeat it to us. It was wonderful! Everyone could keep up with the situation. Then, the best part!! We got to hear my brother's voice! Best moment ever! It has been an absolute blessing, especially to those that live too far away, to be able to hear cherished voices and hear the nurses and therapists working so hard to help my brother. We can be there every step of the way, encourage my brother, support his family, while they go through this time. Learning first hand from doctors and therapists has helped us all understand and has given us a sense of what my brother is dealing with.

I told my friend about it and she was able to hear everything that took place after her sister's surgery when she was unable to travel to be with her. In her case, she was able to help explain to her sister and mother what exactly was going on, as they were too stressed to listen to the doctors. What a wonderful thing that was for her.

I tell everyone about Medcorder. It is the best thing ever!
