Medical literature extending back to 1977 demonstrates the power and impact of sending patients home with a recording of the consult.
There’s nothing better than being able to hear your doctor’s words again, and play them back for family. Studies show that patients forget up to 90% of the information shared in a consult by the next day. Having a recording eases the burden on both the patient and doctor and ensures every detail is remembered.

Medcorder has helped tens of thousands of patients across the U.S. better understand their doctor. Now it’s available for exam rooms.
Medcorder launched as a free smartphone app in 2018 to help patients understand their doctor and share what was said during an appointment with family and caregivers.
Since then we’ve helped tens of thousands of patients take control of their care journey, understand every word their doctor says in complex care scenarios and loop family and caregivers in for support. We’ve been a top-rated app in the U.S. app store with 3-4x more usage than our competitors. We’re also undergoing clinical trials with UCSF.
Now, we’re making it even easier for patients and doctors to benefit from the clarity and accessiblity of consult recordings and transcripts by offering a tablet device for the exam room.
How It Works
The Medcorder Tablet can be mounted on the exam room wall, placed on a counter or attached to a rolling stand. With your permission, patients can initiate recording in a few simple steps.
The Medcorder recording device is installed in your exam rooms by our team and is operated by the patient to record all or part of the consultation, with your permission.
The patient enters their phone number to begin recording, and when the recording is complete they receive a text mesasge with a link to access their recording online. Your office will also have free access to all recordings and transcriptions within your own online Office Portal.
The device and service are offered at no charge to you or your patients. We are exploring the addition of future paid features to better support doctors, such as modules providing screening functionality, EMR summarization, and more.
Medcorder does not sell personally identifiable information. See our Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions for more information.
We care about keeping patient information private. The patient enters their own phone number into the device, which is owned and operated by Medcorder. Therefore, electronic patient health data (ePHI) is not transferred and a BAA is not required.
All data is encrypted in transit and at rest and we exceed industry best practices around managing access to patient data.
